lively – floral – invigorating
Celebrate the season of renewal with Basantah, a Nepalese Himalayan first flush tea that is deep, refreshing, and a true joy to drink. Grown at the foothills of majestic Mt. Kanchenjunga in eastern Nepal, just across the border from Darjeeling, this tea captures the playful freshness of spring. In Nepali, “Basantah” refers to spring – a time of blossoming, pleasant weather, and renewal.
Hand-picked by small-scale, pesticide-free farms at around 2,000 meters and crafted at the Kalapani tea factory under the guidance of female tea master Apsara Neupane, this tea delights with floral notes, natural sweetness, mild tannins, herbaceous aromas, and a wonderfully complex profile.
Perfect for brewing in a larger teapot for multiple infusions or in gong fu style – use more leaves, start with shorter infusions, and enjoy the evolving flavors over several steeps. Basantah is a vibrant, invigorating cup to lift your spirits and brighten your day.
