A wonderful Chinese black tea that reveals the deep flavour of the leaves without the traditional smokiness.
This premium tea is an unsmoked variation of the famous Lapsang Souchong, or Zhengshan Xiaozhong. It comes from the same historic tea village in the Tongmu Nature Reserve in Fujian, crafted by the very same Zhang family that has been making Lapsang for over five generations.
In this version, the smoking step is left out, allowing the pure essence of the leaves to shine. The result is an elegant, vibrant tea that is thick and sweet, with notes of red berries, minerals, and a subtle spiciness. The body is malty and rich, the astringency gentle and perfectly balanced, and the finish smooth and long-lasting.
A remarkable tea that highlights the versatility of this legendary region.
