‘Ya Sai Xiang’ or “Persimmon Blossom Aroma” is a relatively obscure stock of phoenix dancong renowned for its similarity to its namesake sweet fruit. Wonderfully layered, ‘Ya Sai’ is bright and floral, with excellent clean taste. Tumble baking, followed by a masterful light convection roast inspires rich caramelized undertones and mossy, citrus qualities. This tea comes from our friend and Wudong scion, Ms. Wen. In her gardens, roads wind among free seeded tea bushes and shrubby trees, with steep stone and dirt paths bisecting the arbors, many of which have reached the coveted century mark.
