Hjicha powder is roasted green tea ground to a fine texture. Prepared like matcha and usually enjoyed with milk, it gives a cozy, nutty drink thats naturally low in caffeine perfect for any time of day.
This hjicha comes from a 5th generation tea garden in Wazuka Towan, Uji, Japan, grown without pesticides. The cool mountain air and big temperature swings between day and night give the leaves their distinctive taste. The Wazuka river flows through the town, surrounded by misty forests that gently shade the tea, enhancing its rich, toasty flavor.

How to brew
Sieve 1-2 tsp of powder into a bowl. Add about 100ml of 80C water. Mix gently with a bamboo whisk (soak the whisk in warm water first to prevent breaking), then whisk until foamy. Add warm foamed milk of your choice and enjoy. Also delicious iced.
