Herbaceous Invigorating Floral
A playful Nepalese autumn harvest grown at the foothills of the worlds highest mountains.
This tea comes from an altitude of around 2000m in the Himalayan range, with bushes nestled at the base of majestic Mount Kanchenjunga, the worlds third highest peak. Kalapani, a young tea producer established in 2020, impresses with their innovative approach. Experienced tea makers work alongside a female tea technician leading production, creating teas that blur traditional categories and add an intriguing complexity.
The Himalayan terroir in eastern Nepal, just across the border from Darjeeling, gives this tea a playful and complex aroma reminiscent of a Darjeeling first flush the most exclusive of black teas. The leaves are whole, with silvery, furry tips. The infusion is golden-green, juicy, slightly herbal, and evokes hay, bamboo, and white flowers.
